What are USDC and USDT?
USDC and USDT are "stablecoins" - digital dollars. 1 USDC or 1 USDT always equals $1 USD. They're like having dollars in a digital wallet that can be sent anywhere in the world instantly.
What happens if I forget the Stellar memo?
Don't worry — our app walks you through the process and clearly highlights the memo field so you won't miss it. The memo is required by the Stellar network to route your deposit correctly. As long as you follow the in-app instructions, your funds will arrive safely every time.
Which network should I use?
We recommend Stellar (cheapest, < $0.01 fee) or Polygon (very cheap, < $0.10 fee). TRON is also affordable (~$1 fee). Ethereum works but has higher fees ($1-10). Use whatever network you already have USDC or USDT on.
How long does it take to fund my wallet?
Stellar: ~5 seconds. Polygon: ~15 seconds. TRON: ~5 seconds. Ethereum: 1-2 minutes. Your Stratum Remit balance updates automatically.
Is this safe?
Yes! Stratum Remit uses bank-level encryption. The exchanges we recommend (Coinbase, Kraken, Gemini) are regulated US companies that have been operating for years.
Why use crypto instead of just a bank transfer?
With crypto, you pay zero fees to Stratum Remit (we make money on a small exchange rate margin). Traditional services charge $5-20 per transfer. Over a year of monthly transfers, you save $60-240!
Can I just use a debit card to fund Stratum Remit?
Not yet — right now you need to buy USDC or USDT through an exchange like Coinbase first. The one-time setup takes about 15 minutes, and after that every future transfer is fast and fee-free. We're working on adding direct debit card funding soon to make getting started even easier.
